Cody's last X-Country Race of the Season

Cody's x-country season ended in Harrison, AR on the course that is to be the state course.  All I can say is it should me named The Beast.  There are some awesome down hills but that means there are some not so cool up hills.  Cody did really well and we are proud of the effort he put forth this season.  He's a pretty cool kid.

Getting ready.

Waiting at the start.

And their off.

The first long uphill... my photo was photo bombed by a coach.

If you look behind Cody in this photo you can see the hill they had to run up, forever.

Cody starting his famous kick he has at the end of every race.

What did you bring home for Creed? Barry Johnson...

Barry's in big trouble.  Our neighbors offered to loan us this little motorcycle and he said yes.  Creed was very excited.

He knows he has big points with Creed.

Cody trying it out... he's kind of big for it.

Becoming Warriors!

Months ago I signed up Barry, Cody and myself up for a race called The Warrior Dash.  Ours was to be a 5K with enough obstacles to make it interesting.  Why you ask?  Most of the time there is no reason except I am a tad crazy sometimes but this time it was to give Cody an event that would give him much joy while running.

You can tell we are no warriors yet - we are too clean.

Our start time (shift) was at 10:30 a.m. so there are not very many people there yet... it looks like a lot but 7,000 people actually ran this race.

Almost go time.  Notice Sierra and Creed taking in the surroundings.

I am sure they really enjoyed this... oh dear.

We are now official warriors... because we are dirty.

Cody is the #1 warrior in our family because he is the dirties and he finished 560 out of the 7,000 people.

This is what the mud pit looked like.  Can you see the man that looks like chocolate?

We jumped over two things of fire.

People waiting to get rinsed off by the fire trucks.  Barry and I went down to a pond.

All clean, at least looks clean.

Can you find the man in the batman underwear that are too small?

The smoked turkey legs were really good but really expensive - $7 per leg.  We all munched on $14 worth.

Barry standing in front of the pile of donated muddy running shoes.

I can only imagine what this would look like after the last group of people ran at 4:30 p.m.

Salem & Lamar X-Country Meet

The Jr. High Boys warming up.  Cody threw up just before this race but he ran it anyway.

Cody ended up coming in 12th and his team took 1st place overall.

Cameron wasn't feeling well before the run either.

He came in second and turned out having a stomach virus the next day.

Lamar Arkansas
The Jr. High boys came in 1st over all again and Cameron came in 2nd.
