Cody, as some of you know, says he is NOT a runner but I think different. :) When we asked Cody what sport he wanted to do in Jr. High he told us he was going to just do rock climbing he didn't like any of the sports offered. With that said he is not in basketball and x-country. The deal is, you have to try both sports and then pick one.
On Sept. 2 the Jr. High boys team (which we didn't think we really had one, but it grew from 2 to 5 making an actual team.) headed to Mt. Home, AR for a 7th and 8th grade mile and a half race. This was their first race of the school year. They all did a really good job. The team came in 3rd overall, out of 5 teams (they almost got second) and Cody ran a 11:13:83 (avg. 7:13 min miles) putting him 16th out of 59 runner. Not to shabby for the first race of the season. Good job Jr. Jasper Pirates!
As much as Cody likes to think he really doesn't care too much about the sport he gets kind of quiet and looks very serious before a race.

I bet he was even faster than you think. He probably got lost and ran an extra seven miles. Sorry, just had to rub that in one more time. Good job, Cody.
